Bosch designed the new GTS 10 portable table saw for craftsmen who need to cut wide pieces of wood such as sheets, boards and planks to an exact size, or long pieces of timber to an exact width. This powerful and efficient power tool, with its big base plate and its ability to make a wide range of precision cuts, has an 1800 W motor and an idling speed of 3650 rpm. The GTS 10 can handle whatever is thrown at it in the course of a hard working day. The new saw confirms Bosch's reputation for excellence in woodworking machinery.
Joiners, carpenters, cabinet makers, builders, exhibition-, kitchen installation- and store-fitters will all benefit from the GTS 10's big base plate. Including the built-in extension piece, it offers a work surface of 641 x 737 mm. If the guide bar is set to the right, its maximum distance from the saw blade is 635 mm; set to the left, the maximum distance is 330 mm. The 254 mm diameter saw blade can make straight cuts on pieces up to 79 mm thick. With the blade set at 45°, the GTS 10 can manage a maximum depth of cut of 64 mm – among the best in its class.
In developing the GTS 10, Bosch laid especial emphasis on the aspect of precision. For example, the parallel guide bar is secured at two sides of the base plate, thanks to its four-point "Square Lock" – but it still only needs one hand to operate the lock from the front of the machine. This makes the saw particularly stable and easy to use. There is also an extra guide bar for angled cuts. The rigid aluminum base plate and the tough plastic sub-frame also contribute to the saw's precision. The GTS 10 weighs only 34 kg, making it easy to carry.
The controls of the GTS 10 are all placed conveniently on the front side of the machine. On the frame there is a pocket for holding the saw blade and the wrench and also a handy bracket for securing the power lead. Another practical user-friendly feature is the ease with which the saw blade can be exchanged: the drive spindle lock means that the blade locking nut can be easily and safely removed using just the open-ended wrench supplied. There is also provision for a dust extractor hose to be attached to the back of the saw, making for even greater working comfort.
